Tamimi’s 47,000 s.f. conventional supermarket was the first of its kind in the KSA. It is the pioneer of the modern super market concept in Saudi Arabia, launching its first branch in 1979 and continues to be a major force in a highly competitive market at present it has 45 stores in eastern province (Dammam) and Riyadh. Wholly owned by the Al Tamimi family it carries the largest range of branded food and non-food products supported by local suppliers and its own international import department. A new prototype was created and launched in 2010 leading the way in retail relevant supermarket design.

  • Design a “Western Style” supermarket which serves both Saudi and western customers.

  • Design a prototype store that establishes criteria for all future stores.

  • Create a laboratory store to test new retailing programs.
